Guilin Guangxi Province

Guilin is a city in the northeast of the Guangxi Zhuang Region, China, situated on the west bank of the Li River, and bordering Hunan to the north. Its name means, "Forest of Sweet Osmanthus", owing to the large number of fragrant Sweet Osmanthus trees located in the city. The city has long been renowned for its scenery of karst topography and is one of China's most popular tourist destinations.

Yangshuo Guangxi Province

Yangshuo County is a county under the jurisdiction of Guilin City, in the northeast of Guangxi, China. Its seat is located in Yangshuo Town. Surrounded by karst peaks and bordered on one side by the Li River it is easily accessible by bus or by boat from nearby Guilin. In the 1980s, the town became popular with foreign backpackers, and by the late 1990s packaged tourists began arriving in greater numbers. At that time, domestic tourism represented only a small fraction of the tourists but by 2005 domestic tourists outnumbered foreign tourists by a great margin. The West Street of Yangshuo has become a must-visit place. The history of West Street dates back to over 1400 years ago. At that time, there were only a few grocery stores in the street. Now, it has become a popular street that you can find many foreigners walking around the street and even become the boss of a bar or restaurant. There are signs written in both Chinese and English. You may find almost everyone here could speak English and the karst hills.That's the unique feature of Yangshuo.

Xingping Guangxi Province

Xingping is a village located in North Guangxi, China. It is 27 kilometers upstream from Yangshuo on the Li River and 72 km from Guilin city.The village was initially settled in 265 AD, and was the regional centre for Yangshuo County until Yangshuo was settled in 590 AD. Like Yangshuo, Xingping is surrounded by great examples of Karst scenery, with one particularly prominent peak(laozhai shan(hill)overlooking the village from the southern end of the shoreline against the li River(lijiang) at the west, which is topped with a viewpoint which can be climbed too with relative ease by those with an adventurous spirit and a head for heights.Be prepared after rain,very slippery rocks. Certainly,the hidden pearl of the area,but not between 9-5 due to tourism and stop for li river cruise.After those hours,xingping goes back to the locals.Better to stay for a few days and experience traditional China.Xingping has a nice authentic feel with a few intact historical buildings and easy access to the Li River by bamboo raft,boat and by bus from yangshuo south bus station or get a bus at the back of guilin bus station.

Note that there are no A.T.M's with mastercard or visa so bring

enough cash money with you.

Bajiaozhai or eight angle mountain,located in the northeast of

guangxi province on the border with hunan province.

Get the bus from guilin bus station to the city of ziyuan.

Cross the city and get a local bus to meixi.

Arriving in meixi ,get a bike to get you to the entrance of the park.

Longji rice terraces Guangxi Province

Longsheng is located about 90 kilometers (55 miles) north of Guilin city.2.5hr drive by private car.the rice terraces are divided in 3 villages.longji traditional village,ping an and dazai.How to get there: by private car or by bus.

Take a bus (non-stop) from Guilin to Longsheng at the Guilin Qintan Bus Station.29 yuan/person

arriving at Longsheng Bus Station, take a local bus to the entrance of Longji Rice Terraces Scenic Area (some of the buses depart to Ping'an Village and some others depart to Dazhai, so before you get on a bus, you should make it clear with the driver about where you are heading to, so as to make sure you get on the right bus). The whole journey takes about 2.5 hours.
